Room 8 is reading Pennies for Hitler by Jackie French. As part of our learning we had to choose a critical moment from different parts of his time in london. We split into 4 groups and chose our scene. Our group chose a part where the main character, Georg, a German – Jew escaping Germany to England, was staring at his favourite place in London, the Library, in flames, with bodies everywhere. We chose this scene because it showed how Georg lost something important in his life. After we chose it we then drew our scene on paper. After that we then made the chosen scene out of clay. It took a while, and it was hard to make it, but it was worth it. 15 minutes later, it was all finished. All our groups went around, looking at each others, and giving feedback. It was my first time with clay, and it was a very fun experience. Thank you to Miss George for letting us make it, and I will hope to make some more next time!
